New England is known for its nine hole golf courses. I grew up in Maine playing the same. Whether it was Wilson Lake, Cobbossee Colony, Summit Springs, Paris Hill, or the in-town Apple Valley, these were old courses and mostly unchanged since their inception. Working in a design build format with Agri-Scape Golf, I routed an executive course with, as was the CSM mantra, with holes that would fit with a regulation eighteen hole course. There is some old New England quirkiness with a punch bowl par 3 4th playing over a ledge outcropping and the short par 4 6th with a partially blind tee shot.
