Historic Payne Park is home to one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Pawtucket and is the only green space in this portion of the city.  It is also home to a very popular and successful ‘midnight’ basketball league.  Improvements included: two new basketball courts with safety surfacing, lighting system, new backboards, bleachers and even a hydration station.  As the existing playground attracts many local children, the structure was upgraded to meet ADA requirements and improve aesthetics.  A new nature themed spray park with boulders and interactive stream is the summer highlight.  All stormwater and spray park water is treated naturally through an extensive rain garden series.  A stage and mural walls draw users to the park’s other end and will be used by local theater, church and community groups for performances. Park ribbon cutting to much acclaim on June 22nd, 2019.
