G+G was very excited to work with the staff at Mystic Aquarium on the new Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation. This $8 million building will link to the renovated Wiederhold Veterinary Care Facility and include new classrooms, an auditorium and animal quarantine facility. G+G designed a rear courtyard/event space with local stone boulder field, native plantings screening views and defining the space, plus a central focal point for the Mystic Whale sculpture. Front entry plantings and car park lighting highlighted the building façade. Overall scope include lighting, walks, custom cedar fence (meeting aquarium guidelines), low maintenance plantings, sports quality turf and irrigation. Opened spring 2019.
