G+G was retained to develop a course master plan for this 1967 Geoffrey Cornish private club. Front nine pace of play and hole sequence were reviewed and led to the proposed changes in hole length and par. Alpine’s most influential feature that effects play and aesthetics is their bunkers. Master plan changes included bunker additions, eliminations and shifting to enhance strategy and improve aesthetics. Initial improvements were made in spring 2013 and included forward and rear tees construction in preparation for the RI Open.
